What is Operation Back to School?
Every summer before the beginning of the school year, For Our City - Chandler provides thousands of students throughout Chandler with backpacks, school supplies, shoes, socks, underwear, haircuts, and school uniforms through the one-of-a-kind Operation Back to School event.

- Inventory and count your items to let us know what you collected. Drop off your donations towards the end of May. We will follow up with dates/locations in the near future.
While we are doing this focused donation drive and collection through the end of May to help inform our purchasing for the event, we will happily and gratefully accept donations from June on. Despite all that we collect and purchase, there is always more demand than supply. We would love to reach as many students as we can.

2024 Event Report
For Our City - Chandler was excited for our 11th annual Operation Back to School. Thanks to the generous support of Compass Christian Church, we were able to utilize three spacious indoor areas for distributing essential supplies like backpacks, underwear, socks, shoes, and haircuts. Representatives from CUSD’s Title I schools were present to connect with families and share important information for the upcoming school year. Despite the extreme heat, thousands of residents accessed these valuable resources and were well-prepared for school. We extend a heartfelt thanks to the Chandler Fire and Police Departments for their heat relief efforts. Our three title sponsors, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Edwards Vacuum, and Scheels were a huge support. Special appreciation also goes to our dedicated volunteers, who tirelessly facilitated smooth operations, ensured hydration, and brought smiles to students and their parents. Thank you to those businesses, non-profits, and community partners that shared materials for our Community Resource Bags. Whether you came to serve or to receive services, the sense of community on the campus was palpable.
This is the essence of For Our City - Chandler!
