What is Operation Back to School?
Every summer before the beginning of the school year, For Our City - Chandler provides thousands of students throughout Chandler with backpacks, school supplies, shoes, socks, underwear, haircuts, and school uniforms through the one-of-a-kind Operation Back to School event.

2025 Event Report
For Our City - Chandler 12th annual Operation Back to School. Thanks to the generous support of Compass Christian Church, we were able to utilize three spacious indoor areas for distributing essential supplies like backpacks, underwear, socks, and shoes. Representatives from CUSD share information for the upcoming school year. Compass distributed 2,400 ice creams, keeping families cool, while Matthew’s Food Bank distributed 1,600 food bags to families in need.
We extend our gratitude to the Chandler Fire and Police Departments for their heat relief efforts. Our three title sponsors—Blue Cross Blue Shield, Scheels, and the City of Chandler and 48 other sponsors/ donors were a huge support. Special appreciation also goes to our dedicated committee members, volunteers, who facilitated smooth operations, ensured hydration, and brought smiles to students and their parents. Thank you our to those businesses, non-profits, and community partners that shared materials for our Community Resource Bags.
Whether you came to serve or to receive services, the sense of community on the campus was palpable.
This is the essence of For Our City - Chandler!

Donation drive and collection through the end of June, we will happily and gratefully accept donations from July on. Despite all that we collect and purchase, there is always more demand than supply. We would love to reach as many students as we can.
